Stick Movie Tutorial 2 Stick Movie Tutorial 2

Rated 4 / 5 stars August 23, 2007

Much better than last, but I say the same

It could still be improved, but if you look back on my review for the first tutorial I apologize for getting on your case about frame by frame options. This one has them but I still might add that they are small making it hard to see. I agree with your opinion about the tracing weapons because that is just a waste of time. If you don't already have a tutorial about shooting guns I suggest you do because you seem to have a lot of experience with flash. It was a very helpful tutorial but it could be improved.

Good, but could be better.

If you look at other tutorials they have the frame by frame option for you. It really helps to see how to do the animation. The blood looks very realistic but, it is confusing to see how you did it. The explosion is about ten times harder to figure out because there is not even a way to look at it with it slowed down or stopped. Don't get me wrong it's a very helpful and insightful tutorial but it could be improved. So next time you make a tutorial (if you do) I would suggest putting in a frame by frame option to make it more clear as how to animate the special effects.

Looking back, I agree. I'm embarrassed of it now, but I'll leave it up for nostalgia.

Raar and Ryk Raar and Ryk

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars July 10, 2007

Very Entertaining! :)

Graphics: (A+) I loved the Japanese (far east Asia in general) based artwork. The backgrounds and the line movement of the characters looked very good. I found that you chose just the right colors as well.
Style: (A+) I have never seen any other author make an animation like this one (except for you).
Sound: (A+) The narration was very unique. The music blended well into the scenes. Being in Japanese or Chinese or Korean (you get what I mean), I couldn't understand but it was very clear (I think) and you put a lot of effort into it. You told it like a story, and I could tell you put a lot of effort into it. The tone of voice you used seemed very calming, like you were trying to ask a angry person a sane question.
Violence: (n/a) I mean, come on. They are so cute.
Interactivity: (A) You can't put much interactivity in this but you did have a play button.
Humor: (A-) This wasn't a humor oriented animation but the fact that they had what was supposed to be the others (not trying to be a stereotypical person).

Overall: Raar and Ryk is a very entertaining piece of flash!

Other Comments:
1. Have you ever thought about being an author for children's books?
1. a. This subject might go over their heads a little bit.
1. b. I agree with iDattebayo, smoking (even with a pipe) is probably not the best thing to put in a children's book or animation.

Art of War DX Art of War DX

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars June 27, 2007

It was okay.

It was a good game, but . . .
Graphics: (A-) The soldiers were drawn very well, but the tank was smaller than the soldiers.
Style: (A-) Lots of defense games are worse than this, but I have played better. I have never seen a Soviet vs. America defense game though.
Sound: (B) Firstly, the music during the game was getting on my nerves. Secondly, there were random bombs falling (sounds) and explosion (sounds). Third of all, when the tanks exploded, there was no sound. Lastly, I couldn't hear any gun firing when I shot, but I think it was there.
Violence: (A) Yeah it's kinda obvious, but I think you could add more ways for the people to die (not trying to be mean to them).
Humor: (A) I give you that for being able to place humor in this. The guy at the end, the Soviet Army Leader person, looked like frankenstien at first. :P

Overall: (A-) Not my favorite game, but fun none the less.

Suggestions:
1. Add a save button.
2. Add a pause button.
3. Make it more like waves of enemies and add a pause.
4. Make it so you can buy those buildings whenever, so you don't have to wait.

Generic Defense Game Generic Defense Game

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars June 26, 2007

Great Game, but . . .

Graphics: (A+) The weapons and enemies were very well animated. The looks and preview drawings (choices) were very well colored.
Style: (A++) I have seen very few customizable games. Much less customizable defense games.
Sound: (A) I enjoyed listening to the music. The special effects were adequete for the weapons (personally, I would have chose different).
Violence: (A+) That's pretty obvious.
Interactivity: (A) Customizing your game really boosted the experience. Being able to position the turrets was helpful.
Humor: (A) You added humor in the most unusual places.
ex. Nazi Bowlers ex. Being able to choose pasta as the object you must protect (from mutant ants of course) :D
Suggestion(s):
1. The single machine gun should have shot quicker.
2. If the mutant ants are one behind the other (which happens often), you can only shoot the next once the first ant has died and disappeared.

Overall: I had an extremely good gaming experience while playing Generic Defense Game.
